Privacy Policy — Sudoku

Last updated: 7 October 2026

The short version

The Sudoku mobile app collects nothing, sends nothing, and has no servers. Everything it remembers stays on your device. This policy covers the Sudoku app only; the TheLuckyDev website has its own privacy policy.

What the app stores, and where

  • •Sudoku keeps three things in your device's own app storage:
  • •Your current puzzle — the board, your entries, your pencil notes, the timer and how many hints you have used.
  • •Your statistics — games played and won, best times per difficulty, your current and longest streaks, and which days you completed the daily challenge.
  • •Your settings — colour theme, light/dark preference, sound and music toggles and volume.
  • •This data never leaves your device. It is not uploaded, backed up to us, synchronised between devices, or shared with anyone, because there is nowhere for it to go: the app has no account system and no server.

What the app does not do

  • •No accounts, no sign-in, no email address.
  • •No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting or usage measurement of any kind.
  • •No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
  • •No third-party SDKs that collect data.
  • •No location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos or files.
  • •No tracking across apps or websites.

Permissions, and why the list looks longer than it is

  • •Android shows the permissions an app declares, including ones its framework adds. For completeness, here is every permission in the published build and what it is actually for:
  • •INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — declared by React Native itself. The app makes no network requests.
  • •VIBRATE — haptic feedback when you place a number.
  • •MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS, FOREGROUND_SERVICE and FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK — sound effects and background music.
  • •READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE and WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE — declared by a dependency and limited to Android 12 and below (maxSdkVersion 32). The app does not read or write your files.
  • •The app does not request microphone access or permission to draw over other apps. Both were removed deliberately.

Sharing your result

If you tap Share after finishing a daily challenge, the app hands a short line of text — the date, your time and your streak — to your device's own share sheet. You choose where it goes, and nothing is sent unless you pick a destination. The app does not see or record your choice.

Deleting your data

  • •Two ways, both complete:
  • •Settings → Reset Progress clears your statistics, history and daily challenge record.
  • •Uninstalling the app removes everything it has stored.
  • •There is nothing held anywhere else, so there is nothing to request from us and no account to close.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages. Because it collects no data at all, it collects no data from children either.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a future version of the app ever collects anything, that will be stated here before the version ships.
